Australia Shipping
At this time of year we get a lot of inquires for shipping our snowmakers to Australia because it's now winter time down under. We gladly ship worldwide, but sometimes run into problems shipping a few of our products, and Australia is sometimes a problem when it comes to shipping our assembled snowmakers or portable water misters.
For International Shipping we use USPS which is the cheapest way of shipping any International orders for us. Priority Mail is usually how we ship International orders. To most areas of the world Priority Mail International isn't a problem, but some places such as Australia are problems. USPS Priority Mail International has a maximum sized girth (size of box) allowed to enter countries. For most countries it's 108 inches with the length of the box and girth combined. Our biggest box for assembled snowmakers and portable misters, is 96 inches. The problem comes in to a select number of countries, including Australia. The maximum sized box allowed in is 79 inches. So if you order a snowmaker or water mister, there is no way we can ship it to you via USPS Priority Mail. We have to use Global Express Guaranteed which is roughly $365 for shipping to Australia, almost the same rates as UPS, FEDEX, and DHL.
To help combat the problem we have several back up plans if you still want one of our products, but don't want to pay a killing on shipping. For our snowmakers, we offer self build snowmaking kits where you can assemble a homemade snowmaker out of common plumbing fittings and special snowmaking nozzles. These kits don't include a stand and all the parts fit in a small box. This allows us to ship everything to you reasonably. If you still want a professional snowmaker, you can order just the snowmaking tower directly from us and we can ship it to you reasonably priced since we can place it in a long skinny box that is less than 79" in girth and length. You will then just have to mount the tower somewhere or make your own stand for the tower. For our water misters we have our water sticks and handheld mister, which you can use in place of our portable low pressure misters.
We always love to ship to Australia, but don't like how we cannot ship certain products without having the customer pay high shipping fees. So to help we came up with the solutions above. If you have any further suggestions, please contact us and let us know!
