A Big Thank You From Monica

Last month one of our customers, Monica, was looking around for a unique Christmas gift for her father. She stumbled upon our website and knew right away that a snowmaking kit would put a big smile on her father's face come Christmas morning. Except she found us on the last shipping day where we could Overnight packages for delivery by Christmas. Thinking fast she decided to order our Snowmaking Guide so that her father could assemble his own snowmaker. She was thrilled when we told her we could email her the guide right away to give to her father. Then about a month passed by and we received one of the sweetest (literally) thank yous we've ever gotten here at SnowStorm Snowmaking.

The other day we received a package from Monica that contained a thank you note and also a batch of fresh homemade cookies from Monica, thanking us for sending the guide just in time for Christmas. Then just today we received yet another email from Monica. Both messages from Monica are below:

From the letter in the picture above (excerpt, first paragraph removed):

Hi Ben,

The plans went over great!! My dad LOVED finding out how to build his own snowmaker and may be contacting you with questions about what the best air compressor would be (he says he needed an excuse to get a bigger one!).

I'd also like to order the set of 3 nozzles for the pressure washer plan. Please let me know the best way to do that.

Thanks, Monica

From today's email:

I can't tell you how tickled pink my dad is about this snowmaker - he loves your site and has been like a kid in the candy store when he talks about his trips to the hardware store. He used to be a carpenter and built inventive stuff with us kids all the time, but now that we're out of the house, he doesn't have as many "fun projects," so this really was a great thing you've invented.

Thanks!
Monica

Well there you have it, no matter how old you are, making snow at home will make you feel like a little kid again!

New Pressure Washer

We have added an additional pressure washer to our pumps page of the website. The pressure washer features a 1600PSI, 1.6GPM AR Triplex pump and is perfect for the Vector Snowmaker and our newest snowmaker, the Avalanche Snowmaker.

The pressure washer is only $439.99 with $90 shipping within the USA. You will not be disappointed with this pump. It will outlast ANYTHING you can find at the home improvement store. In fact we have tested this by running it for 120 hours so far and still haven't found a single bug with it. That's just how flawless this machine is!

New option for snowmaking kits

Last season SnowStorm Snowmaking introduced home snowmaking kits for the first time. These kits contained all the plumbing fittings, special adapters, snowmaking nozzles, and everything else needed to assemble a homemade snowmaker. The purpose of the kits was to offer an alternative to customers who wanted to make snow at home, but couldn't afford to invest in a professionally built, assembled home snowmaker. They were also offered to those who wanted to learn more about snowmaking in depth by assembling their own snowmaker to see just how exactly snowmaking works.

Along with all our products, the kits have proven to be very successful to us. We have often received emails from customers and prospective customers regarding having the snowmaker assembled by us and then shipping it to them. Mainly because they were unsure if they would assemble it correctly or just didn't have the time to assemble the snowmaker.

For awhile we held off on the idea as we wanted to keep the prices low on the kits, as that was the main purpose of them. As time went on the requests kept coming to us so now we have made it an option. For an additional fee, we can now assemble your homemade snowmaker from your kit for you. The option is still there to purchase just the kit unassembled at the original price. Assembly rates vary on which kit you choose, so please consult the kits page of our website for the assembly fees.

As always we highly encourage you to assemble your own snowmaker in order to save money. It's fast and simple. If you can look at a picture and thread pieces together, then you can assemble our kits without any problems! But if you still want us to assemble the snowmaker for you, the option is now there.

This is the perfect example of how our customers continue to help us grow and bring better and more exciting things into the home snowmaking scene. If you ever have any suggestions for any of products, or a new product idea, please don't hesitate to contact us with your suggestion!

Todd in Smyrna, DE

Here is an email we received from Todd in Smyrna, Delaware.

Thank you guys for all of your help. I ordered kit number 4 to make snow for my kids to go sledding on. The service and help I received from your company was fantastic. I had a TON of questions before ordering and each time I called or emailed you guys, I had a thorough answer right away. I'm already preparing for next year and hope to come back to SnowStorm Snowmaking to buy another kit or maybe even a fully assembled snow maker! Thankfully winter isn't over yet and I may have a chance to make even more snow! My wife thinks I'm crazy, but there is nothing like having the only yard for miles with snow in it!

Thanks so much for all your help,

New Snowmaker

As we mentioned last week here on our blog, we have been working on something for those of you who just can't make enough snow. Although we are putting the finishing touches on it right now, we wanted to let everyone know that we have designed another snowmaker.

The snowmaker will look identical to all the others that we sell (same stand design) but will have a different nozzle configuration. The snowmaker will be comprised of 4 nozzles making it perfect for pressure washers/pumps that flow up to 3GPM of water. The snowmaker will work with any pressure washer or pump that will flow between 1.3GPM and 3GPM of water, making the home snowmaker extremely versatile. This is the perfect snowmaker to buy if you want to start with a small electric pressure washer and graduate into a larger pressure washer later. There is no need to get another snowmaker! The snowmaker will be painted in a darker shade of blue.

The snowmaker will sell for $474.99 + $35 shipping within the USA (as always, international shipping is offered, just contact us for a quote). We are currently accepting pre orders from customers wishing to order the new snowmaker now. Delivery is scheduled for the end of this week, but customers on the pre order list will not have to wait for their snowmaker should a backorder occur (we anticipate one, as we've have a lot of interest for this snowmaker).

Email us at contact@snowstormsnowmaking.com if you have any questions on the new snowmaker, or would like to place a pre order.

Shipping Reminder

All orders placed after 3PM Friday and over the weekend may incur a slight delivery delay. This is because of the Martin Luther King Holiday. USPS doesn't pick up or deliver packages on the Martin Luther King Holiday.

DHL, Fedex, and UPS still pick up and deliver today so if your order is being shipped through one of these carriers your order will be shipped out today. Only large items such as snowmakers, compressors, and pumps ship with these carriers. Kits and parts/accessories typically ship via USPS.

Site Glitch Has Returned

The site glitch from earlier with the contact form on our contact and rental pages has returned. Temporarily we have removed the forms so that we do not risk not receiving your message. For now, please just email us your questions at contact@snowstormsnowmaking.com

We apologize yet again, and hope to rectify the situation on Monday.

http://www.snowstormsnowmaking.com/

Site Glitch Resolved

We think we have solved the site glitch we had been experiencing earlier with our contact forms on the contact us and rental pages of our website. We also tested the checkout system on our new domain names and determined that we have no problem receiving and processing orders placed from these new domain names.

Although we think the problem is solved, there very well may be a chance we over looked something. Again, if you fill out the form on our website to contact us and don't hear back from us within a few hours (even on the weekend) please try refilling out the form again or emailing us.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Minor Site Glitch- 1/12/08

We would just like to let everyone know that we have been experiencing a minor glitch on our website. So far the problem only seems to be on the contact forms located on our Rentals and Contact Us pages. For some unknown reason we are not receiving all the messages that people send to us. We are currently working to fix the problems, but until we fix it, please email us or try resubmitting your question on the form if you do not hear back from us within a few hours.

At this time the glitch only seems to be affecting our newly acquired domain names:

www.home-snowmaking.com
www.homesnowmachine.com
www.homesnowgun.com
www.snowmaking-machine.com
www.makerealsnow.com
www.snow-gun.com
www.home-snowmaker.com

These domain names are setup to automatically show our main site: www.snowstormsnowmaking.com. However the page titles in the title bar of your browser do not show that you were redirected to www.snowstormsnowmaking.com. You can still place orders and fill out the contact forms on these pages and we will receive them. We have already received orders from most of the domains above and seem not be having trouble. If you place an order from one of these domains and encounter a problem, please contact us ASAP!

Sorry for the inconvinience and we hope to fix the glitch soon.

Snow Machine Rental Page

Since our last post from earlier today regarding home snowmaker rentals, we added a snowmaker rental page to our website.

http://www.snowstormsnowmaking.com/rentals.html

We hope this helps those of you looking to rent a home snowmaking machine!

http://www.snowstormsnowmaking.com/

Snowmaker Rentals

A common question we often receive is if we rent home snowmakers for people who only want to make snow for an event or for someone who wishes to demo the snowmaker before buying. The answer is yes. We do have a limited amount of Maverick, Vector, and Veyron Snowmakers available for rent.

The rental fee varies on several factors. The snowmaker model, the shipping fee to the customer, and the duration of time the customer wants to rent the home snowmaker. Since these factors determine the price, customers should contact us for a quote and availability of snowmakers.

If you wish to inquire about home snow machine rentals from SnowStorm Snowmaking please email us at contact@snowstormsnowmaking.com or fill out the form on our website. Please let us know which snowmaker you want to rent, your city and zip code, and also how long you wish to rent the snowmaker. We will then email you back with a quote and if a snowmaker is available.

Notes:

You must be able to provide your own compressor/pressure washer (if applicable)

You will be charged a security deposit that will be refunded once the snowmaker has returned and is not damaged. Normal wear and tear (cosmetically) is expected, but abuse may result in a loss of part of your security deposit

Additional fees may apply if you have to keep the snowmaker longer due to weather changes

We can only ship snowgun rentals within the United States at this time.

Want to start a unique business? Consider buying snowmakers from SnowStorm Snowmaking and setting up your own local home snowmaking business. You can either go to peoples homes and make snow, or just rent them the machines. People are willing to pay a lot of money to have snow in their yards for parties and especially Christmas. We offer volume discounts to customers looking to buy several snowmakers to start up a rental business. Contact us for more information if this business opportunity appeals to you. Landscaping companies are our number one customer for this!

Crankin' out the white stuff in Louisiana

Pam and her husband in Mooringsport, Louisiana have been making snow at home with the snowmaker from kit 2. Below is her email message and some pictures she sent us. If you have any pictures, videos, or even just a testimonial of snow you made from our products feel free to send them to us and we will post your story right here on our blog!

Pam's email:

We got the # 2 kit and waited and waited and waited. Finally it got cold enough. My husband was like a little kid. He loves making snow now, I think your product has created a snow making monster. Every day it gets cold all he wants to do is go home and make snow. I am attaching what is sure to be the first of many snow falls in Mooringsport Louisiana.

Pumps and Accessories

We just continue to keep adding new products to our snowmaking line. This time we added pressure washers and a whole line of pressure washer accessories. Don't worry, we are not finished yet and hope to have even more pumps available (that flow more water)in the near future.

In addition to the pressure washers you can find just about every pressure washer fitting you could ever need, a variety of pressure washer hoses, industrial grade garden hoses, and a pressure washer lance kit. All these items can be found on our Pumps Page of the website. See the products page of our website to view the Pump Page.

The pressure washers we have now are INDUSTRIAL GRADE pressure washers with triplex plunger pumps. These pressure washers will OUTLAST ANY pressure washer you can find in a store. These pressure washers are designed for industrial applications and also last for thousands of hours. They are meant to be run for long periods of time and will last you for several snowmaking years to come. The extra investment in one of these pressure washers is well worth it, and will pay for itself overtime. Don't forget that you can use your pressure washer in the summer months to clean around the house!

Veyron Snowmaker Testimonial

We always love to hear from our customers whether it’s from them making snow at home for the first time or just answering their questions. The other day we received an email from a customer in Virginia who made snow at home for the first time. We were so happy to get the nice long response we asked if we could post it here on our blog. She agreed as long as we removed her full name. Enjoy!

Dear Snowstorm Snowmaking,

I have always been a snow lover, but living in Virginia means that we rarely get snow. I didn’t think it was possible to make snow at home (let alone make snow), but then one night watching TV I saw a documentary on how ski resorts make snow. Right away I went online and started searching to see if I could make snow at home.

I came across a few websites that had plans to make your own snowmaker and other companies that sold snowmaking equipment. I had called two of the companies only to find they did not have anything in stock or that they wanted me to spend a ton of money on the biggest equipment. Since it was late at night I went to bed and decided to sleep on the idea. Although it was going to be expensive I went online to order my snowmaking equipment. I forgot the website so I went back on Google and typed in home snowmaking. Then I found your website, one that I had over looked the night before.

Looking at the products I saw that I could get the same snow output for less money if I bought one of your snowguns. I was a little worried at first, fearing that your machine would be junk since it was less. I was WRONG! Sure, it may not have all the bells and whistles, but it makes snow and lots of it!

I bought the Veyron and within 2 days my order arrived. I unpacked it with excitement and read the instructions. It wasn’t going to be cold for the next few days so that gave me time to get everything ready. The night I went to make snow I was unsure of something and didn’t want to ruin the snowmaker so I held off until I could hear back from you guys. I went in the house and sent an email to you around 9:15PM. Not expecting to hear back from you guys I went in the garage and packed everything away. I came in the house and saw I had the internet still on. Then I realized you had already replied to my question within minutes of emailing you. The email message said my reply came at 9:34PM, which was almost 20 minutes from emailing you. My question was answered and I ran out to make snow.

I decided to not sleep that night and just make snow since the temps were going up later in the week. I figured that I might get in trouble for being sleepy at work, but at least I’d have snow when I got home.

I made snow from 9:55PM until just before 6AM the next morning. The end result was amazing. Over a 110’x25’ (roughly) I had anywhere from 3 inches of snow to 15 inches in the deepest spots with my 3GPM pressure washer. On average I had about 6-7 inches of snow throughout the space. I was IMPRESSED!

I just want to thank everyone at Snowstorm Snowmaking for helping me out, especially late at night. If I would’ve got my snowgun from another company I may have had to wait longer to make snow at home. Because of you guys, I was able to make it that night. The local paper wants to run an article on me the next time it gets cold. If they do, I’ll be sure to send the article to you guys and mention you in the article. Now that I’m addicted to making snow at home, I’m looking to buy another snowmaker from you guys next year when I get another pressure washer! My compressor is already big enough, but I just have to make sure I can flow enough water for two snowguns!

Thanks again,

Brenda M.
